Marc-André Blouin: Equine Nutrition Consultant
Marc-André acts as the nutritional consultant for Curraghmore. He has spent his entire life around horses including 11 years as a veterinary assistant for a racehorse practice. Mr. Blouin received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology, with a specialization in nutrition, from the University of Guelph and then in 1998, became the Equine Technical Service Manager for Agribrands Purina Canada. The aim of raising a racehorse is to produce sound stock destined to race at two years of age. Young stock must grow on rapidly and in a balanced way. To that end, Curraghmore’s vision is the use of fundamental quality feed ingredients proportioned for the specific needs of each life stage of the herd. Nutrition plays a most important role in producing a superior athlete. A horse cannot win by genetics alone.
In Memoriam : Murray Munroe 1945-2005
Murray is a man who will always be remembered at Curraghmore.
He was our farm farrier for 25 years until his untimely death in January 2005.
For a farm that insists on the best of everything, Murray was the perfect fit.
His kindness and patience with the horses in conjunction with his experience,
craftsmanship and talent made him a great farrier and a cherished
member of our family. He is greatly missed! |
